The comic opera Falstaff returns at the Greek National Opera!
With Falstaff, Verdi surprised everyone, as few believed that the eighty-year-old composer would compose another major work (and a comic one) after the great success of Othello (1887).
The central figure of the play is the fallen knight Sir John Falstaff and his amorous adventures, which make him a laughing stock in the small local community. At the end, after various tragicomic situations, the characters of the play all sing together "All in the world is a joke... but he who laughs last laughs best".
